Name choices....

Well, we thought we were pretty sure about Alex for his name...but recently we have been looking into other options. We have been calling him Alex since we found out the sex, and some days it fits and other days it doesn't. Quite honestly, I don't think any name will feel right until we see our little guy. So right now we are looking at Indian names. We thought it might be nice to incorporate Raj's heritage into his name. Ironically, one of the names we like just happens to be a name similar to one of the name choices Raj's family was going to name Raj. Raj wasn't officially named until he was 18 years old, they had always called him Raj, but wanted an amerian sounding name for his official name. At one point, they were going to name him Rajravi to incorpororate Raj. However, he ended up with the name Charles Rajnaud Parsons. He has disliked this name, for the mear fact that people get confused with it. His legal name is totally different from what people call him. At anyrate, we are looking into changing is name officially. Back to my point- We really like the name Ravi, so we are adding that as an option to the list.

Kick, Kick, Kick....

Baby is all about kicks the last few weeks. It feels as if Raj should be able to feel him by now since they feel so strong, but he still can't. Dr. said it will probably be a few more weeks before Raj will be able to feel them on the outside (bummer). Baby likes to spend his time on my right side, which is not very comfortable, or down low near my bladder...which is also not very comfortable. And the last few nights I've noticed he has been pretty active at night...which keeps me up...and makes me tired in the morning. Oh well....it still feels awesome to feel him move around. :)

Dr. Appt-Week 22

I had my last Dr. appt last Monday. Thankfully my Dr. was back from vacation, but unfortunately we found out she is also pregnant...and due at the end of October...so I will need to find another Dr. for my remaining two months of pregnancy. She will be available come post pregnancy for which I was very glad, since I really like her. We heard the heart beat and she measured my belly to see how far along I was measuring. She said I was measuring larger than I should, which didn't surprize her. Apparently most women who start their pregnancy over weight tend to measure larger. So to accurately track his growth progress we will have an ultrasound every 4 weeks. I am kind of excited to get to see him every 4 weeks, and hoping his growth is normal. He was fine at the last ultrasound, so I'm not too worried. Ironically, my mother said she always measured father along than what she should even though her weight has never been over what it should be.

At my next appt, I will have to do the fasting glucose test again to make sure I don't have gestational diabetes. Like last time, when I had this done, I am nervous for this. I do not want to have this problem. My sister Mandy was diagnoised with this about a month ago. She's had to change her whole diet, which she said, has actually been very helpful and she's even lost a few pounds in her 3rd trimester.

And then a week after I have that test, I will have to go in for my RH- shot. I've heard these really hurt....so not really looking forward to doing it...but it's necessary, so we'll do it.

Aches and Pains....

So far, I think i've been pretty lucky with this pregnancy. I had morning sickness, but nothing severe. Now that I am almost 6 months, and you can definately tell I am pregnant, I've started to have various aches and pains. It started a few weeks ago with swelling in my feet and hands. I've since been a bit more careful about how much salt I've been having and elevating my feet at work occationally and when I get home from work.

Also, I've been having a quite a bit of back pain. It's either in my lower back, or upper back. Raj has been helping with giving me back rubs, which helps quite a bit. I really notice it when I've been walking around alot like when we were at the Fair. I was in alot of pain and had to stop and take breaks and have Raj rub my back...it helped for a while, but after a few hours, it didn't matter what we did. We finally left, I was exhausted, but it was still alot of fun.

The other issue I've been having is heart burn. Some days are worse than others. It seems to hit me when I am hungry and have nothing in my stomach, and also after I've eaten...it's worse at night...tums are my friend right now!!

Other than that, I am feeling really well, and actually like being pregnant and feeling Alex inside of me!

Week 20

Well, I am officially halfway through my pregnancy. Although some weeks have dragged on, for the most part it has gone by pretty fast. So I guess I can start counting down to your arrival! 139 days approximately until we meet you!

This week I have seen my weight start to go up. I gained 2 lbs this last week. I think it was mainly water, because my feet have been swelling the past few days, and today I was down one pound. So right now I weigh 273.6 and my belly is measuring 50".

And I am finally starting to look pregnant instead of just having a fat tummy, which is quite a bit nicer for my ego! LOL
